November is Sugoi Con. I am a con virgin and need you alls' sage advice.

1. Spend the night or not spend the night at the convention center? Should I attempt the entire weekend or slowly ease myself into the experience by staying only one day? Let's pretend money is not an issue, only the maximum amount of fun. (I could drive home and go back the next day. 1 1/2 hours ain't nothing.)

2. Cosplay. A girl has to start somewhere. I think there's a contest. I have no desire to enter. Is it faux pas to just walk around in costume hoping to bump into OP cosplayers because you want to glomp unsuspecting pirates?

3. GIVE ME GUIDANCE. I have no idea what to expect and am escorting a couple to it. My fellow overlord isn't a problem, but her husband is easily startled. I wish to save him undue mental trauma by being knowledgeable.

Speaking of guidance, if I do cosplay I think I would do Vivi during Little Garden. Only I have no idea how to replicate her diagonally striped shirt o' doom. Comments, suggestions? I could always cop out and make the X shirt she wears on the front of vol. 20-something. I figure she's wearing the white shorts and gogo boots on her lower half. Help me quickly because I went to the Halloween store and had white knee boots put on hold. They're patent leather. Is that too tacky for Vivi?

Funny addendum: I saw one of those silly pillowy muscle shirts at the Halloween store. Anywho, I thought it would be perfect to buy one of those and then paint Whitebeards' symbol on the back. Then anybody could be Ace (and not subject me to their so-not-eight-pack tummy.) Hey, even I could be Ace. Wow. That's mind boggling.

Chou is reading Discworld so excuse me if I digress off the beaten path of OP nyah.

There are some writers that will affect you forever and Terry Pratchett is that author to me. I want to write things that make people feel the way I feel when I read his work. And I feel ALOT.

Shiru and I had a discussion once about who we admire and having heroes who aren't based in boring 3-d reality. She, being the learned one (excuse me as I butcher the summary of your learnedness Shiru but I erased the email a long time ago.), said that we shouldn't be ashamed of admiring characters in manga or novels because that is what has happened since ancient times. The sagas, stories, plays, and spoken words of cultures have defined values for generations. Stories set guidelines of what we could be even if that is not what we are now.

Terry Pratchett has written characters that have affected me in that way. But not only have they inspired me to be more, his books are grounded in a philosophical reality that has changed the way I look at the world. I believe that men and women might be bought and sold so long as they aren't easily spent. I think you can go to the Edge and back. The Great Cycle of Nature can eat my loincloth. There's a difference between important and personal.

I could go on and on but you'll get sick of it after a while. ^^ The point is that I am not the same person I was after reading his books. This is perhaps true of every book you might pick up. But I don't get the same feeling with other books. That's just how it is.

Terry Pratchett is. And my life is better for it.

The image is much big but that is because it mirrors the number of members in of the Cult of Hawtness. The design scheme is an old favorite: color blindness with splashes of blood. You don't like it? FINE! *runs away and pouts in the corner*

Nothing exciting except this blog change. Try other blogs for your daily injection of OP and info.

Somehow I own an autograph of Alex Trebek and Bob Barker. This is what happens when celebrity auctions are held at night after I've had to drive for six hours. On the other hand, now I can stare at the glossy and mutter, "The day is MINE, Trebek." as much as I want.

I have a new comp. It's name is Zou. I want to have its babies. Yet I can't use it for much because I haven't set it up for the Internet. That's why I am still emailing from a cafe. Blergh.

Did you know the Hellsing boxset is 120 dollars? Yeah fackin' right. No Hellsing for Stace.

============

5 places I want to go to:
-Malaysia (Hi reins!)
-England (again and again and again)
-Alaska
-Morocco (I'm a couscous whore)
-Otakon

5 things I would like to learn:
-how to ride a motorcycle
-how to fly a helicopter
-how to juggle - kittens and chainsaws!
-how to belly dance
-how to bend the will of others to my own

5 things I wish I was:
-less spazzy
-more friendly
-less of a "right suspicious bastard" as someone once called me
-able to become a great runner without putting in any effort
-Queen of the Universe, barring none

5 things I'm glad I am:
-smart
-always ready with a witty fan culture related comment on my tongue
-able to laugh at the absurdity of any situation including tornados
-not anyone other than me
-soon to be Queen of the Universe, barring none

5 things that make me smile
-One Piece, always
-my friends
-fooling everyone
-Rush Limbaugh falling off the edge of the Grand Canyon. (not coz I don't like him, I just think he'd be bouncy like an Ang Lee Hulk.)
-having ridiculous thoughts in places like church or school or when my parents are lecturing me about something

5 foods I like to eat
-okonomiyaki
-mexican
-virgin's blood (more of a drink I guess)
-peaches, beautiful peaches
-blackblack gum

5 things I'd like right now
-a TV that gets FujiTV so I can watch OP
-my friends in the same town as me
-a new steering wheel cover
-someone to pay for my membership to the gym
-the world, under my boots of doom

5 movies I've watched recently
-Band of Brothers
-The Italian Job (Handsome Rob and mini coopers *drool drool*)
-28 Days Later (Manchester is zombie central. And it makes PERFECT sense.)
-Terminator 3: Return of the Sequels (Dad was in charge of the remote.)
-Charlie's Angels 2: Full Throttle

5 of the worst anime I've ever seen, imho. Like the *turn this crap off* kind of thing.
-Chobits. Let's not speak of it.
-Bubblegum Crash
-anything with Atom Boy (more of a kneejerk reaction to his overexposure in Japan)
-Dragonball GT
-i can't remember the name but it was 80s, full of pectoral muscles, set in the future and was utter garbage.

5 anime that I think are totally too overrated
-Tenchi Muyo
-Love Hina
-Chobits (my irrational hate knows no end)
-GTO but only because the manga is so much better. I still love GTO in all its forms including live-action. I just think people should worship the manga more.
-Evangelion

5 weird pet peeves
-coffee shops who insist you order with tall grande and all that pseudo italiano bull crap.
-bad key lime pie
-people who talk about politics and don't know anything beyond what they've read in the local paper
-people who won't give blood because they are afraid of needles. People are dying. Suck it up.
-my internet connection at home.

5 things I'd like to tell everyone that I bet they didn't know about me:
-I am hypersensitive to caffeine, so much so that my college roommates put a clause in our living arrangements contract about me and decaf.
-I cross stitch like a mad fiend. Behold my pillow cases of doom!
-I have certification to carry a firearm as a bounty hunter in Ohio. But let me stress that I'm not one.
-I like Dragonball. I just don't like the fans.
-I pledged a sorority in college.

Holy HFIL, I *am* alive! I feel like I should be jumping out of a cake or something and - oh my bad. Totally not what I was actually thinking about there.

So what have *i,* the amazing Stacey, High Priestess of Teh Hawtness and General Rebellious Behavior, been up to, you ask? Nothing remotely related to OP unless you count hooking up my DVD player in my bedroom and finding a drawer to shove all my OP shite in. What possessed me to buy all that stuff? Rabid Fangrrly-ness, that's what.

LYN! I am SOOOOOO glad you posted - firstly, a big party should be thrown in honor of you having a fancy piece of paper! WHEE! And also because I hope you received much joy and happiness with the giant box. And I hope your mom wasn't too scared. Sorry, Lyn's mom.

Nik is too cool and I want to steal ideas offa her. I would never be such a plagiarist as to actually get a license plate that sez KAIZOKU but I have decided that I have cash to blow and gosh dernit! I have a car! I want a personalized license plate too. It probably won't have anything to do with fandom (unless it says something like RABID) but I did think it would be hilarious to have L3AD3R.

No. Wait. That would just suck.

Jen and Dev: Jango is SOOOOOOOO happy now that he has his dance partner. And I refrained from licking anything. I have such self control, ne? MUCHAS GRACIAS!

I feel that since, lessee, Reins, Chou, Lise, Matt, and Mess all love Hellsing then I should too. It has a vampire in it - I'm sold. *scours world for eps*

Sharnice - try again! I cleared it out - or try scorpio_kaurhotmaildottydotcom

My big goal is to finish, totally utterly finish, OAG. Then move on to MST:OP and Sanji and his Leather Pants Del Fantastico. I'm also going to rip a few things off ff.net. That'll make me feel all clean and tidy. Happiness! I hate leaving things unfinished, especially when it is fic.

To End: I LOVE you Hyacynth for promoting the Hawtness.
